Since its beginnings, over 90 years ago, Hallmark has become a household name renowned for its sincere messages, humour and beautifully crafted products. Hallmark helps people say what they might not be able to say on their own through cards, gift packaging, social stationery and keepsake ornaments.

Hallmark joined the NBCF team of corporate partners to help pursue their corporate vision - to enrich the lives of their customers and employees. Hallmark views the NBCF’s commitment to breast cancer research as a continuation of this vision.

Hallmark Cards Australia believes that one of the benefits of being involved with the NBCF is that it “motivates and builds team spirit through uniting the company in pursuit of a worthy cause and corporate goals”. Hallmark’s amazing participation in the Mothers Day Classic Fun ‘n’ Run saw them win the 2004, 2005 and 2006 Largest Corporate Team trophy in Melbourne. In October each year, Hallmark hosts a Pink Ribbon Breakfast for their employees thus enhancing employee commitment and morale. In 2006, Hallmark won the NBCF competition to have Pink Ribbon Ambassador, Suzie O’Neill, join their team and host their pink ribbon breakfast.

Every Mothers Day and Christmas, NBCF cards grace the shelves of newsagencies, card and gift stores and national chains across Australia, with messages of hope and love. Since 2005, Hallmark has produced a Mind, Body & Soul Calendar which aims to enrich lives by using the wisdom of the ages to improve wellbeing and “Send your senses on a year long journey”.

The funds raised through the sales of Hallmark cards are also helping to fund Professor Joseph Sambrook’s research program. As a member of the Kathleen Cuningham Foundation Consortium for research into Familial Breast cancer (kConFab), an international research co-operative, Professor Sambrook’s study aims to collect clinical, epidemiological and genetic data on families at high risk of developing breast cancer. As a national resource, kConFab is of growing value to researchers who want to identify and characterise the genetic and lifestyle factors that affect the onset and progression of breast cancer. For more information on kConFab visit the website at www.kconfab.org.

“Our relationship with the NBCF has been truly beneficial. The hard work and unwavering dedication to breast cancer research is truly admirable. We look forward to continuing to support the search for a cure, and working with the NBCF to enrich the lives of Australians.” Amanda Del Prete, Marketing Director

In 2007, Hallmark moved from Platinum to Diamond partner status. This change represents a donation of $250,000 per annum to the NBCF, and a total of $750,000 over the next three years. The commitment to corporate social investment as shown by Hallmark, and their unwavering dedication to the funding of Professor Sambrook’s research program, highlights the total benefit that enriches society when the Australian business community supports social imperatives like the prevention and cure of breast cancer.
