David Jones is committed to making a valuable social contribution to Australian society. We are extremely proud to be supporting the efforts of the National Breast Cancer Foundation, a relationship that dates back to 1994. This relationship is an integral part of our commitment to supporting not-for-profit women and children’s health organisations – particularly focusing on cancer-related issues. This focus is important to our customers and staff.

David Jones is committed to making valuable contributions for much-needed funds for cancer research. Our total donation this year is in the vicinity of $295k and is made up of the following contributions;

• During Pink ribbon month David Jones staff and customers contributed $160k through staff breakfasts and the sale of Pink ribbon merchandise nationally. David Jones is the exclusive department store retailer of Pink Ribbon Merchandise during Pink Ribbon Month in October and all of our stores nationally sell Pink Ribbon Merchandise
• The David Jones Charity Bear raised $105k this year with the launch in October of our eighth David Jones Charity Bear, Annabelle.
• David Jones also contributed a $30k research grant donation in support of treatments for breast cancer this year to assist Dr Georgia Halkett of Curtin University of Technology in Western Australia.
• In addition, David Jones contributed $50k to the Rose Clinic, which is located in the Elizabeth Street Store, Sydney and provides services such as breast screening, blood tests and bone density assessments for women. Our company contributes towards the operating costs to assist with the funding of a nurse’s salary to service the clinic. The Rose Clinic has provided services to over 40,000 customers since its launch in 2003.
