NBCF has a strong year with successful fundraising strategy

December 18th, 2015

At NBCF we believe research is the most effective way to end deaths from breast cancer. NBCF research has helped develop better therapies, improve understanding of how breast cancer grows, discovered possible ways to stop the spread to other areas, and improved treatment outcomes, quality of life and survival rates for women with breast cancer.

We are committed to funding research right across the spectrum – from understanding the fundamental basis of the disease to psychosocial research aimed at improving the quality of life for survivors. Our goal is to work towards zero deaths from breast cancer by 2030 – when, thanks to the advances made through research, we hope that people diagnosed with breast cancer will live with it, rather than die from the disease. However, even with ongoing advances, each day there are 42 Australians diagnosed each day and seven dying from the disease – so there is still much to do.

From the expansion of our fundraising programs, and with the support of our generous donors, we will be able to increase our future funding of breast cancer research. In order to achieve our goal we continue to only invest in viable fundraising channels.

We would like to thank our 82,067 loyal and generous supporters across Australia who have donated to NBCF this year and share in our belief that funding breast cancer research will positively impact current and future generations.

NBCF says a big thank you to our amazing volunteers and supporters for getting us closer every day to finding a cure for breast cancer through research.
