‘Best Practice in Fundraising’ Mastercourse at the UICC

December 4th, 2014

NBCF supporters contributed to the breast cancer cause in a different but very valuable way this week. At the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) Congress in Melbourne, delegates working in cancer organisations from countries and cultures as varied as Nigeria, India, Malaysia, Kenya and Saudi Arabia joined NBCF CEO Carole Renouf and Individual Giving Manager, Moana Wood, at their Mastercourse ‘Best practice in fundraising’. Mastercourses are being piloted by UICC this year in an effort to build capacity particularly in developing countries.

Delegates learnt about the wide variety of ways in which NBCF supporters engage with us, take our message to the community and help raise funds for research – whether this be through volunteering, joining the Speakers’ Bureau, donating, running in the Mother’s Day Classic or City to Surf, trekking in China, holding an event, donating and more. Carole and Moana then helped each delegate build the bones of a fundraising plan to take back to their country. By the end of the day, there were big smiles all round!
