RESEARCH SAVED MY MUM

My name's Mia and this is my little brother Jonty and we'd both like to thank you. If it wasn't for you and all the other amazing Pink Ribbon Partners we might not have our mum today.

I was only 10 years old when mum was diagnosed with breast cancer so I didn't really appreciate what was happening. I could tell that mum and dad were stressed and afraid.

Jonty was just 6 and has Down syndrome, so it was even harder for him to understand what was going on.

One thing we both know now is that if it weren't for people like you funding research into breast cancer, Jonty and I wouldn't have our mum here, and we wouldn't be a big and happy family.

"We want to say a massive thank you,
it means so much to us.
Thank you very much".

Watch Sandra's Breast Cancer Story

"I'm Sandra, Jonty & Mia's mum. I'm so proud of my children and I'm very grateful that I'm still here with them - because of you.

When I was diagnosed with breast cancer, I was shocked, scared and frightened. But, I wasn't scared for myself. I was worried about my children. At 10 Mia might be ok without me but I was really worried about how Jonty would cope.

Thanks to many years of research that has led to better detection and treatments, I'm still alive and together with my family. We all want to send our thanks to you for your ongoing support.

Your generosity doesn't just help those who have been diagnosed with breast cancer, but all of the family members who are part of that breast cancer story as well."

Thank you so much,
Sandra, diagnosed 2008
