A diagnosis of breast cancer can have far-reaching physical, psychological and emotional impacts, often long after treatment has finished. NBCF is committed to funding research that addresses these issues and improves the quality of life for all those living with a diagnosis of breast cancer, and their families.
Survivorship research we fund investigates:
- Developing resources to help patients deal with the fear of cancer returning
- Finding new ways to better diagnose and treat lymphoedema, a swelling common after breast cancer surgery
- Identifying new treatments for cognitive impairment associated with chemotherapy
- Examining the impact of weight loss on breast cancer outcomes.
