The mechanisms that govern cell development are not well understood. Different proteins regulate the expression of different genes and dysfunctions in these processes can cause cancers. The LIM-only (LMO) protein LMO4 is a potent regulator of cellular development and it is implicated in breast cancer.

Understanding the mechanisms by which LMO4 interacts with its partner proteins during normal development and in breast cancer will help us develop specific therapeutics to treat this disease.
