Quantifying the impact of imaging choice for breast cancer radiotherapy
Finish Year: 2015

Magnetic resonance images (MRI), provide greater detail than computed tomography (CT) images. MRI is currently used for breast cancer diagnosis but not for radiotherapy treatment, which uses CT.
Dr Holloway aims to determine the potential of using MRI for radiotherapy. The likely benefits include improved treatment success, reduced side effects immediately after treatment and a reduced risk of further cancer.
This project is co-funded by NBCF and Cancer Australia.
