I never thought I would get here. Those words, ‘Irene you have breast cancer in your stomach and it is not good’ echo in my distant memory. I am so grateful to the incredible researchers who have dedicated their lives to giving me the gift of living. I am stronger in so many ways. I love the woman I have become.
Strong, resilient and content. I hope I have inspired others dealing with metastatic disease to stay strong and positive and my family and friends are learning to enjoy their blessed life much more. I have more options of treatment and am able to continue living my life with little to no harsh side effects and the disease that was invading my precious body is slowly melting away. I do not fear my disease any more I know the cure is near.
I have more precious grandbabies to love and have seen my darling children live happy lives. I love seeing my husband relaxed and retired. We are enjoying are many adventures together. I love giving back and will continue to volunteer for our local charities. Life is wonderful.
