Dr Kristy Brown puts a spotlight on breast cancer research

Dr Kristy Brown heads the Metabolism and Cancer Laboratory at the Hudson Institute of Medical Research in Melbourne and is currently funded by a National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) Novel Concept award.

After Kristy’s aunt Ruth was diagnosed with hormone receptor positive breast cancer, she thought that she may be able to make a bigger difference in women’s lives by focusing her research on breast cancer.

In this video Dr Kristy Brown talks about her lab’s research on the relationship between obesity and breast cancer, why novel concept grants like hers are so important and the exciting results that are already coming through from this research.
