Women in Super
Women in Super (WIS) is a national organisation of women working with and for the not-for-profit superannuation sector.
With almost 3,000 members across Australia, WIS believes in connecting, inspiring and supporting women in the superannuation and wider financial services sector to reach their potential, grow their career and achieve their aspirations.
For over 20 years, WIS has been committed to improving access to superannuation for women. Through collaboration with industry partners on research projects and advocacy campaigns, they aim to raise awareness about the lack of superannuation held by women and to improve the retirement outcomes of current and future generations of women.
WIS members care about the health of women as well as their financial wellbeing and in 1998 established the Women in Super Mother’s Day Classic, a fun walk/run held across Australia on Mother’s Day to celebrate the lives of those affected by breast cancer. To date WIS has proudly raised $33.2 million for the National Breast Cancer Foundation for breast cancer research.
“We are extremely privileged to be the organiser of the Women in Super Mother’s Day Classic, a truly community event that, year after year, sees so many women, men and children come together to walk or run, in all weather conditions, with the aim of raising critical funds for breast cancer research. Women in Super is very proud to be the single largest fundraiser and Pink Diamond partner of the National Breast Cancer Foundation.” Cate Wood, Chair, Women in Super.
