MARGO'S BREAST CANCER FUNDRAISER

"Since Margo's diagnosis, I see the world differently"

MARGO'S BREAST CANCER STORY

Margo was just 32 when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Her diagnosis was a shock to her whole family. The following year, Margo and her four sisters hosted their first breast cancer fundraiser - a Pink Ribbon Breakfast.

Over the years Margo and her sisters have continued to host Pink Ribbon fundraisers. Over this time, their events have grown from a simple backyard breakfast into a spectacular Gala Ball. Since 2007, Margo and her sisters have raised $299,951.61 for breast cancer research! This is an incredible effort and we at the National Breast Cancer Foundation are enormously grateful.

In 2016, Margo was re-diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Now, Margo and her sisters are more determined than ever to keep up their fundraising for breast cancer research through their annual events.

"I never expected for my cancer to return after 7.5 years, but it did and I live with metastatic breast cancer. I will not let the re-diagnosis stop me. Live life, don't let cancer beat you!"

RAISING FUNDS FOR RESEARCH AND AWARENESS

As well as raising vital funds for breast cancer research, Margo and her sisters use their events to help raise awareness. When she was 32, Margo had not given breast cancer any thought at all. Now Margo uses her experiences to help others to be more aware of the signs of breast cancer and how to check for them.

To help Margo increase awareness at her next event, we have developed a step-by-step guide for checking your own breasts. You can help yourself and Margo to achieve her goal by downloading your self-breast check guide today and share it with your friends - it could save your life.
