Women in STEMM Leadership Summit 2025

The National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) will again be the beneficiary for the 2025 Women in STEMM Leadership Summit hosted by Women Leaders Institute.

The event on 12-13 March 2025 in Melbourne (Naarm), now in its third year, is an opportunity for women working in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Medicine (STEMM) to come together, hear from one another and share their unique perspectives.

NBCF is thrilled to be part of the event program and to have several of our NBCF-funded breast cancer researchers attend as our guests of honour.

Don’t miss the opportunity to hear from our Executive Director of Research, Dr Julie Ince-Demetriou and our General Manager Philanthropy and Partnerships Penny Waitsman and to learn what this year’s theme Driving Forward: Leading the Future of STEMM means to them both.

Dr Julie Ince-Demetriou will share her personal journey to leading the way for Women in STEMM. Penny Waitsman will offer insights about leadership, driving change within the community and how together we can change women’s lives.

There is a strong line up of distinguished speakers including:

  • Dr Catherine Ball, PhD, Associate Professor, Author, Entrepreneur, Scientific Futurist, and Visioneer
  • Professor Genevieve Bell AO FTSE FAHA, Vice-Chancellor and President, Australian National University
  • Shaun Jenkinson, Chief Executive Officer, ANSTO
  • Dr Janin Bredehoeft, Chief Executive Officer, SAGE

As the beneficiary for the event, NBCF will receive 10% of all ticket sales. This means your attendance supports fund breast cancer research and will help bring us closer to our vision of Zero Deaths from breast cancer.

NBCF is grateful to Women Leaders Institute for choosing to be a community supporter and for the opportunity to present and have NBCF-funded breast cancer researchers to attend this prestigious event.
