NBCF Grants Scheme

The Investigator Initiated Research Scheme is an amalgamation of the numerous grant schemes previously offered by the National Breast Cancer Foundation (i.e. pilot studies, innovator, infrastructure, accelerator and career fellowships).

The scope and extent of the research funded by NBCF remains the same, as does our ongoing dedication to supporting outstanding researchers.

Investigator Initiated Research Scheme (IIRS) CLOSED
Description: The NBCF Investigator Initiated Research Scheme will support the salary (if requested) and research costs (or portions thereof) of outstanding investigators with a vision to expand the scale and scope of breast cancer research in Australia.
Application process: Applications must be submitted online via the SmartyGrants application system.

NBCF 2020 COVID extension fund: CLOSED
Description: (Updated) This funding round comprises supplementary funding to support previously funded NBCF research projects only. The NBCF 2020 COVID extension fund will only support the salary of individuals currently supported either wholly or in part through an NBCF-administered award up to a maximum of four months. While all NBCF administered awards will be eligible for up to 4 months extension at no cost due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, a majority of awards are also eligible to apply for limited financial support.
Application process: Researchers who are eligible to apply for the 2020 COVID Extension Fund will be notified individually by NBCF. .
