Nine-year old Kim-Mai goes the distance for research

September 22nd, 2015

A huge congratulations to Kim-Mai Harwood, who took on her first triathlon in January at just nine years old!  She was motivated to act after her family was affected by cancer.

Kim-Mai completed a 100m swim, 3km ride and 1km run in addition to raising over $600 for breast cancer research.

She owes her success to sheer determination – even when people were riding past her, she never gave up.

“I think what I did is similar to breast cancer research,” says Kim-Mai, “…don’t give up and take it step by step. No matter how slow and tiring it is, you’ll get there in the end.”

A wonderful insight from an inspirational young woman!
